1. Call up one team from each class.
2. Count the players of each team and make sure to have even teams.
Either add players from another team or have one of the players on the team take an extra turn at the end of the line.
3. Every team must get a turn. If more time is remaining, call up the teams in different combinations.
Example: different #s vs. each other...1-3, 2-4, girls vs. girls, boys vs. boys, two teams vs. two teams4. Everyone should be encouraged to take a turn, but if they are really not wanting to, let the student sit out.
5. When finished, every player on the team must be sitting with their legs crossed to win.
6. The spectators should be polite while sitting, waiting for a turn.
Field Day Notes: Schedule of Events:READ THIS PACKET TODAY! ... BEFORE coming out to field day! Get familiar with your class schedule for the day.
FIELD DAY STARTS AT 9:00. Be at your first game and ready to start a 9:00. Your class stays at the game area until a whistle sounds for all classes to move.
BRING YOUR PACKET WITH YOU TO FIELD DAY! You will need your map (game locations), your time schedule, and your team list with you at all times.
TAKE YOUR TIME AT EACH GAME. TWENTY MINUTES is allotted for you to move to each game and then play the game. Take time to sit the class down, explain the rules, organize the teams, and set up the game.
TEAMS: The four P.E. squads are the teams in your class. (a list is provided). If the teams are uneven in number, you can switch a player to another team, otherwise... make sure to have one player take an extra turn during the relays to make it fair.
POPSICLES: Popsicles will be sold at the end of field day for 50 cents.
ALL TEACHERS ... please collect the money from the students in the morning , put the money in an envelope and write on the outside the total number of popsicles your class needs (total number of students in your class). Bring the money to the snack area after 1:40 and pick up your popsicles for your class, they will have until 2:10 to eat them!
REMEMBER...ALL students in your class will get a popsicle even if they do not bring money...the profit from those that pay will cover the cost of the free ones. ENJOY THE DAY!
